Salsa on 2 in Salt Lake City
Learn Salsa on 2 (New York style) in a foundations class built for experienced salsa dancers who are ready to deepen their musicality, timing, and partnerwork.
This class is designed for students who have completed Salsa Level 3, are currently enrolled in Salsa Level 3, or have equivalent experience with teacher approval. Salsa on 2 shifts the break to beats 2 and 6, giving the dance a smoother, more rhythm-connected feel that many social and team dancers love.
These classes are part of DF’s regular class schedule, and regular class pricing applies.

Salsa on 2 Musicality & Styling is not a beginner salsa class. It is an expansion track for dancers who already understand basic salsa vocabulary and want better rhythm awareness, cleaner timing, and a more connected New York style feel.

Many dancers study On2 because it feels smoother, more grounded in the rhythm section, and especially useful for musicality, social dancing, and team development.

This is part of the normal DF class lineup. You do not need separate program pricing to join — just use the same regular class options you already use for weekly classes.
Same salsa language, different timing feel
Learning On2 does not mean you “lose” your On1. It gives you a second timing option and a different relationship to the music.

Does Salsa on 2 replace Salsa on 1?
No. Salsa on 2 adds another timing approach. Many dancers study both because each one develops different musical and social-dance skills.
Is this a beginner salsa class?
No. This class is not intended for first-time salsa students. It is a foundations class for dancers who already have meaningful Salsa Level 3-style experience.
What if I am not sure whether I qualify?
